JGL Internship Programme

Programme Objective
The JGL Forensic Services Internship Programme is designed to bridge the critical gap between academic learning and practical application in forensic investigations. Our five-day intensive programme provides Honours students in Forensic Accounting with hands-on experience working alongside seasoned forensic professionals.
Through direct exposure to real-world investigation processes, participants gain invaluable practical skills in evidence handling, data analysis, and professional reporting while developing a deep understanding of industry standards and ethical practices. The programme combines technical training with career guidance, offering students the opportunity to explore various forensic career paths and build meaningful professional networks.
By the programme’s conclusion, interns will have enhanced their employability with practical experience, professional references, and the confidence to excel in the competitive forensic investigation field.

I would want to thank you for the opportunity. I had a wonderful experience. The week during our internship, it really helped us to understand how things work in the real world. Not just the study and book material but actually how that principles will be applied in a company one day.

The staff members were extremely helpful, I experienced a few conversations with different team members in the kitchen that I value dearly. It was a good feeling to also talk to other people, similar age and in the same field as us. They provided us with messages of what we can expect in the future.

Rhoda was a very good leader. I learned so much from her and I would like to thank her sincerely for taking such good care of us. It’s no doubt that she knows her work, and has a lot of experience in this field, she is an amazing leader and it was an honour to learn from her.

I know we are the first students you have tried this with, but I believe, if you have the resources for the future Honours students, this should be an opportunity handed to them as well. I enjoyed the fact that we were only 3 girls, since it made the whole experience more personal and the environment was more relaxed. As an introverted person was I not only encouraged to answer but I was exited to take part in the conversations.

Once again, thank you so much for this. It really answered a lot of questions about the industry and my future as well.

I’m incredibly grateful that I chose to participate in the JGL internship. Not only were my expectations met, they were far exceeded!

Some of the key areas I found most valuable include:
Gaining a clear understanding of what a career in forensics truly entails, particularly how to approach client engagements, investigations, and report writing.
Learning how to think critically and creatively, applying out-of-the-box thinking not just to get the job done, but to make a lasting, meaningful impact.
Discovering how to structure my work in a way that ensures efficiency and long-term usefulness.
Receiving practical guidance on how to approach the job market, what to look for in potential employers and how to identify environments where I’ll thrive.

The JGL internship was more than just a program, it was an investment in myself. I’ve walked away with tools and insights that I will carry with me for the rest of my career.

Thank you to JGL, Rhoda, and Levi for your passion, generosity, and commitment to growing the forensic industry.
